Shot peening is a process in which voltage compression is induced on a metallic surface, exposing it to a stream of bead blast at high speed.
This process increases the fatigue and corrosion resistance to: helicoidal and flat spring; bed springs; car stabilizing rods; gearboxes; washer and pinion transmissions; airplane parts; drills and rods of petroleum and mineral perforation; etc.
Cym Materials SA manufactures machines for shot peening treatment, in which the abrasive is propelled by pressure nozzles or centrifugal turbines. The number of the nozzles or wheels of each machine depends on the size of the machine and the components to be blasted.
