Centrifugal Shot Blast Turbines
TR-166 TO TR-600 RANGE
4 to 150 HP — 40 to 1,500 kg/min at the heart of every blasting machine
The centrifugal blast turbine is the heart of any turbine blasting machine and the factor with the greatest influence on work effectiveness, surface quality and machine operating costs. Its function is to project abrasive by centrifugal force in a defined direction, velocity and quantity: the overall performance of the machine depends directly on the correct operation of each turbine. Machines can mount multiple turbines positioned so that abrasive reaches the entire surface of the parts, achieving the desired surface finish in a single pass and at the required production speed.
CYM Materiales develops and manufactures its own centrifugal turbines with over 50 years of experience in industrial blast cleaning. The housing is made from manganese steel sheet with a high-chrome cast iron internal lining and a locking/interlocking system that forms a double wear-resistant wall. The control box positioning and locking system guarantees that the operator always assembles the component in the correct position during maintenance, preventing incorrect hot spot adjustment that would cause premature wear, production loss and deterioration of blasting quality. The turbines accept mounting in any position — including vertical axis — and feature bidirectional rotation without the need to modify blades or wheels.
The CYM range comprises seven centrifugal turbine models with wheel diameters from 166 to 600 mm, admissible powers from 4 to 150 HP and flow rates from 40 to 1,500 kg of abrasive per minute at outlet velocities of 50 to 110 m/s. For the TR-250, TR-300 and TR-360 models, two wheel options are available — cast monoblock or machined with interchangeable blades — each with specific advantages in maintenance, operating cost and projection performance. Three blade widths (narrow, standard and wide) and five control box apertures (25°, 30°, 40°, 50° and 60°) complete the configuration for each application.
TECHNICAL FEATURES
Robust design and wide configuration range
The seven CYM turbine models combine high wear-resistant materials with a design that minimises maintenance time and maximises machine productivity. Each turbine can be configured to match exactly the working conditions and the type of blasting machine in which it is installed.

DESIGN AND MATERIALS
- Housing made from manganese steel sheet with high-chrome cast iron internal lining and locking/interlocking system — double wear-resistant wall
- Control box positioning and locking system: guarantees correct assembly at every maintenance intervention, eliminating the risk of incorrect hot spot adjustment and the resulting premature wear, production loss and blasting quality deterioration
- Motor and housing coupling seals that eliminate abrasive leakage at the sealing zone
- Mounting in any position, including vertical axis
- BI-DIRECTIONAL rotation without modifying blades or wheels

CONFIGURATION AND OPTIONS
- Seven models: Ø 166, 250, 300, 360, 380, 500 and 600 mm — 4 to 150 HP
- Two wheel types: cast monoblock and machined with interchangeable blades
- Three blade widths: narrow (35 mm), standard (30–66 mm) and wide (122 mm)
- Five control box apertures: 25°, 30°, 40°, 50° and 60°
- Direct motor coupling or indirect with intermediate drive shaft
- Outlet velocities: 50 to 110 m/s — flow rates from 40 to 1,500 kg/min
- Optional — VFD kit: controls turbine RPM and blast intensity from the HMI. Includes electric actuator for automatic control box positioning and optimal hot spot across the full speed range.
